Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja was among the 1,856 graduates participating in Nkumba University’s 25th graduation ceremony, which took place in Wakiso District on Thursday.
During the ceremony, Nabbanja proudly announced her achievement, stating, “You can check on page 67 of the graduation book if you’re interested. I am graduating with a Master of Arts in Monitoring and Evaluation, which aligns with my professional responsibilities.”
Nabbanja shared that she had commenced her academic journey before becoming the Prime Minister, serving as a state minister in charge of health at the time.
In a notable twist, Nabbanja, the graduand, also served as the chief guest during the event.
The graduation ceremony was graced by the presence of distinguished individuals, including Gen. Katumba Wamala, the Minister of Works and Transport, who was honored with a doctorate degree, and Raphael Magyezi, the Minister of Local Government, among other dignitaries.
The event saw a total of 15 graduates receiving their PhDs, 236 obtaining Master’s degrees, 185 completing post-graduate studies, 997 earning Bachelor’s degrees, 247 achieving diplomas, and 177 receiving certificates.
The University Chancellor, Emmanuel Katongole, emphasized the significance of empowering graduates to contribute to the country’s job market. He stated that approximately 20,000 graduates enter the country’s workforce every year from Nkumba University, aiming to make a positive impact in various service industries.
