Lira District, Uganda – As schools in Northern Uganda continue to excel in science subjects at the ‘A’ level, St. Gracious Secondary School (SAGRASS) in Lira City has emerged as one of the best, following the release of the UACE results on Friday.
In an interactive session with the school director, Dr. Patrick Olet, he confirmed that three students had achieved outstanding results, scoring 20 points each.
Among the top performers were Alisongura Wilfred (PCM), who emerged as the best in the science combination of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Another remarkable result came from Echun Aldo, who scored 20 points in BCM (Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics). Additionally, Auma Filly (HED) scored 20 points in the HED (History, Economics, and Divinity) combination.
Over 60 candidates who passed with flying colors in science subject combinations are now eligible for government sponsorship, according to Dr. Patrick Olet, the Executive Director of the school.
The Principal of St. Gracious School, Elem Leo, in an interview with The Ankole Times on Saturday morning, shared that St. Gracious School, located at the Leo Atubo Campus, has seen tremendous growth since it started in 2008.
The school is now fully managed by the St. Gracious management team. In the 2024 UACE exams, 208 students sat for the exams, and all passed, with the least achieving 10 points.
A parent who spoke to our reporter on the condition of anonymity commended Dr. Olet for being an excellent school director. “We are grateful to the management and staff of St. Gracious Secondary School and the Leo Atubo Campus for their outstanding performance in the just-concluded 2024 UACE examinations,” the parent said.
For years, St. Gracious School has maintained excellent performance across various examinations, including PLE, UCE, and UACE.
This has significantly contributed to raising the standard of education in the Lango sub-region, Northern Uganda, and other areas across Uganda.
