During a thanksgiving mass for the University of Kisubi (UNIK)’s acquisition of its charter, the Chaplain of Makerere University Business School, Rt. Rev. Msgr. Larry Ssemusu, emphasized the importance of preserving the institution’s Catholic identity. In a time marked by growing secularism, Ssemusu urged students, alumni, and stakeholders to embody Catholic values such as honesty, justice, solidarity, professionalism, hard work, and selfless service.
The Vice-Chancellor of UNIK, Bro. Dr. Deogratias Mugema, affirmed the university’s commitment to holistic excellence in light of its new charter status. He stressed the need for all members of the university community to uphold their roles and responsibilities with dedication and integrity, considering themselves part of a prestigious institution.

Master Collins Male, the Guild President, called for maturity and responsibility among students and staff in all aspects of life. Dr. Karungi Charotte Mafumbo, Chairperson of the University Council, emphasized the importance of reevaluating strategies to empower students for academic and global success.
Bro. John Bosco Ssenkabirwa, Chairman of the registered Trustees of the Uganda Brothers of Christian Instruction, emphasized the university’s mission and values, encouraging a renewed focus on research and publication.
