Following the recent release of the 2024 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) results, attention has turned to the upcoming announcement of the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) results. This period typically sees the release of UNEB results across all three levels.
Senior Four students have been anxious this week due to speculation that the examination body would unveil the results today, February 7, 2024.
However, UNEB has offered reassurance to candidates awaiting their results from last year’s examinations via their official social media channels. The 2023 exams were unique, marking the first and last time candidates from both the old and new curricula sat for the exams concurrently.
Moving forward, the old curriculum will be completely phased out and replaced by the new one. UNEB has clarified that the exam results will not be released today, contrary to the rumors. The official release date will be communicated in due course.
“Release Date for the 2023 UCE Results Yet to Be Confirmed
It has come to our attention that misinformation is circulating on social media platforms regarding the release date for the 2023 UCE results.
The public is hereby informed that the 2023 UCE results will NOT be released on Friday, February 7th, as alleged on some platforms.
The release date for the results of the first cohort of the New Lower Secondary Curriculum and the last cohort of the Old Curriculum/Transitional candidates will be communicated officially as soon as it is confirmed,” a statement from Jennifer Kalule-Musamba, Principal Public Relations Officer at UNEB, reads.
Whenever such rumors begin to circulate, an official announcement from UNEB, followed by the release of the results, usually follows shortly. Therefore, attention is now focused on the coming week for an official update. The theme for this year’s results release is “Embracing security and holistic assessment of learners in a dynamic environment.”
When Can We Expect Them to Be Released?
Sources within UNEB indicate the 2023 UCE results are expected soon, possibly as early as Tuesday, February 11th, or Thursday, February 13th.
The 2023 UCE results will be the second set of national examination results released this year, following the PLE results last month.
