Former Rebels of West Nile Bank Front Get Presidential Pledge of 5.1 Billion Shillings

Government has released 5.1 billion shillings for former rebels of West Nile Bank Front who were pardoned by President Museveni.

This was revealed by the Minister of State for Defence in charge of Veterans Affairs, Hajjat Huda Abason, while meeting members of the Obongi security committee and leaders at the district headquarters.




Hajjat Huda said the 5.1 billion shillings is a presidential pledge which President Museveni made after pardoning the former rebels for them to settle back in their communities.

She advised the combatants to put the money to proper use by investing it in profitable ventures.

The minister warned thugs causing insecurity in Madi sub region to stop it with immediate effect.

Hajjat Huda thanked the Obongi district security team for a job well done in securing the district.

The RDC Obongi, Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka, called upon all wanainchi and leaders to join hands in fighting insecurity and ensuring good service delivery in all government funded projects and programs.

The security committee meeting was attended by all MPs, district chairperson, DRDC, CAO, DPC, NRM and district DEC.
