In a Uganda Premier League match at Lugogo, Fred Amaku scored two goals, leading Maroons to a surprise victory over KCCA. Shaban Muhammad also found the net for KCCA, but it wasn’t enough to secure a point.

Usama Arafat missed a penalty for KCCA, and the defeat adds to the struggles of their newly-appointed manager, Sergio Traguil, who has seen his team accumulate zero points from two matches this season. The game’s opening goal came in the 23rd minute when Amaku capitalized on a goalkeeper spill after a shot by David Ndihabwe.

KCCA equalized just before halftime when Shaban scored from a corner. KCCA missed a penalty opportunity, and the decisive moment came with 10 minutes remaining when Amaku scored his second goal after a header by Patrick Bayiga.
