On March 10th, 2024, Muslims worldwide embarked upon the Sacred Month of Ramadan, a period characterized by religious contemplation, solidarity, and generosity within the Muslim community.
In recognition of the significance of faith as a fundamental aspect of human life, the Speaker took a moment to extend warm wishes for a joyful and spiritually enriching Ramadan to all Muslims.
Encouraging individuals to utilize this sacred time to reinforce their faith, the Speaker also appealed for collective prayers for the well-being of the nation and its people. Additionally, there was a call for the preservation of traditional values and cultural heritage, ensuring the establishment of a robust and respectable society.
In a notable acknowledgment, the Speaker commended the Chief Justice, the Deputy Chief Justice, and the Bench for their recent decision to prohibit the registration of organizations that promote values deemed incompatible and detrimental to the societal fabric of Uganda.
The Speaker’s remarks also touched upon the forthcoming general elections, recognizing the active engagement of various political parties in their electoral preparations. As part of this discourse, members of the NRM Party were urged to participate in the ongoing mass registration process, emphasizing the importance of civic participation and democratic engagement during this period.
Our Muslim brothers and sisters commenced the Sacred Month of Ramadan on 10th March 2024. This marks a period of religious reflection, unity and sharing across the Muslim fraternity.
