Museveni Emphasizes Socio-Economic Transformation for Public Servant Pay Increase
President Museveni stated that socio-economic transformation is vital for the government to afford better salaries for public servants. He highlighted this during the pass-out ceremony for 413 secondary school headteachers in Kyankwanzi.
The President explained that without such transformation, the state lacks resources for increased salaries. He emphasized the importance of families undergoing transformation to create jobs and generate income, enabling them to pay taxes.
Museveni defended the decision to prioritize salary increases for scientists, stressing the need for engineers and medical doctors in national development. He urged adherence to the National Resistance Movement’s principles for prosperity.
The President emphasized the significance of patriotism, Pan-Africanism, socio-economic transformation, and democracy. He urged Ugandans to move from traditional to modern methods of earning, focusing on agriculture, manufacturing, services, and ICT.
Officials praised the government’s efforts in promoting patriotism and transforming the economy. They highlighted the importance of creating a knowledgeable, skilled, and patriotic population for national development.
Attendees also acknowledged the need to combat corruption and promote patriotism among public officers. The event marked the completion of ideological training for headteachers, contributing to Uganda’s socio-economic transformation.
