Hundreds of passengers and travelers have been stranded at Sinyanya landing site while several vehicles have been damaged by floods at the site.

With only three days left until Christmas celebrations, many travelers face significant difficulties due to being stranded on the route from Adjumani to Obongi and those passing through Obongi to Moyo district.

Obongi District RDC Mr. Hasaka Mpimbasa has urged UNRA Moyo sub-station to address the issue to restore normal transportation.

Some passengers and drivers who spoke to Ankole Times, requesting anonymity, criticized the contractor for poor workmanship on the Adjumani-Sinyanya road, which connects to Obongi district.

The road users stated that vehicles are damaged daily due to the road’s poor condition, leading to flooding as a result of shoddy work by Bana Enterprises.

Adjumani RDC Taban Peter could not be reached for comment as his known phone number went unanswered despite repeated attempts by the press.

Obongi District RDC Mr. Hasaka Samuel Mpimbasa, speaking to our reporter by phone this morning from Sinyanya, called upon UNRA Moyo sub-station to rectify the problem to restore normal transportation.
