Charles Ayiekoh faced a daunting introduction to the FUFA Women’s Super League as Ayub Khalifah’s Kawempe Muslim Ladies triumphed 2-0 against his Kampala Queens at the Philip Omondi Stadium in Lugogo on Wednesday.

Sensational Agnes Nabukenya showcased her prowess, netting two goals in the first half, securing the much-deserved three points for Kawempe. Despite having a roster filled with Uganda Crested Cranes players, Kampala Queens found themselves outplayed throughout the match.

Kawempe’s dominance was evident through standout performances from players like Hadijja Nandago and Samalie Nakacwa, who kept Kampala Queens’ defenders on edge throughout the afternoon at Lugogo. The match showcased the relentless determination and skill of Kawempe’s key players.

However, Kampala Queens can attribute this loss to the absence of key players due to injuries. The team was notably without the services of Fazila Ikwaput, Shamirah Nalugya, and Hasifa Nassuna – crucial contributors when available. The absence of these first-team players undoubtedly impacted Kampala Queens’ performance on the field.

Despite the defeat, Kawempe’s victory propelled them to the top of the league table, tied on 10 points with Kampala Queens but claiming the lead due to a superior goal difference. The rescheduled fixture, originally slated for November of the previous year, was postponed as both clubs had numerous players away on national team duties.
