First Ladies of Uganda and Kenya Meet in Kampala

Yesterday the First Lady of Uganda, Mrs. Janet Museveni, hosted Kenya’s First Lady, Mrs. Rachel Ruto, at a luncheon held at State House Nakasero. The visit took place on a Saturday afternoon and was part of Mrs. Ruto’s trip to Kampala.

Mrs. Ruto was in Uganda to participate in Phaneroo Ministries International’s “My Great Price 2024 Annual Women’s Conference.” The conference was held at Kololo Independence Grounds in Kampala on the same day as the luncheon.

At State House Nakasero, Mrs. Ruto had the opportunity to meet with President Yoweri Museveni. President Museveni warmly welcomed her and extended his good wishes to the entire Kenyan delegation, hoping they would have a pleasant stay in Uganda.

Mrs. Ruto was accompanied by a team that included her Personal Assistant Maureen Cherotich, Senior Advisor Librata Muhati, Director of Liaison Rev. David Kisotu, and Salome Kagosha, the Charge d’Affairs at the Kenyan High Commission in Uganda, among others.

Upon her arrival at Entebbe International Airport on Saturday morning, Mrs. Ruto was welcomed by the Ugandan Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Judith Nabakooba. She was also greeted by Apostle Grace Lubega of Phaneroo International Ministries and his wife, Nicole Lubega.

The luncheon at State House Nakasero was also attended by Minister Judith Nabakooba and the State Minister for Luwero Triangle, Alice Kaboyo. Minister Nabakooba had earlier received Mrs. Ruto upon her arrival.

Mrs. Ruto is well-known for her role in intercessory prayers. Later that afternoon, she preached to hundreds of women at the Phaneroo Sixth Annual Women’s Conference held at Kololo Independence Grounds. The theme of the conference was “Igniting Women to Pray.”
