It has been nearly six years since the untimely passing of Moses Sekibogo, popularly known as Radio, who formed one half of the celebrated Radio and Weasel duo. Radio’s tragic demise, following a brawl that left him in a coma, remains etched in the hearts of his fans, casting a poignant shadow over his legacy.
Despite the legal proceedings that led to the sentencing of Godfrey Wamala, also known as Troy, to 14 years for manslaughter, unanswered questions surround the circumstances of Radio’s death. The events leading to the demise of the talented artist linger in mystery, leaving a sense of dissatisfaction and uncertainty about whether justice has truly been served.
Lilian Mbabazi, Radio’s ex-wife, recently shared her genuine feelings about the tragic incident. She acknowledged the profound impact of Radio’s passing, describing it as uniquely challenging. Expressing disbelief about the reported circumstances of his death, she stated, “I can’t fathom that he died the way they claimed, and I firmly believe that the date of his death might not be accurate.”
Mbabazi opened up about the difficulty of explaining Radio’s death to their children, recounting a heartbreaking moment when her daughter inquired about her father’s whereabouts on the day of the burial. She revealed the emotional turmoil she faced, unable to bring herself to provide a clear explanation.
Throughout her narrative, Mbabazi visibly struggled with tears, emphasizing the pain of Radio not being present to witness the milestones in their children’s lives. Despite having more to say, she refrains from making explicit statements due to the lack of concrete evidence, maintaining a belief that foul play was involved. She asserted, “I know something happened that was not right; the pieces of the puzzle didn’t fit.”
Despite the challenges in ascertaining the truth, Mbabazi expressed confidence that one day the complete story would unravel. She relies on her faith, stating, “I am confident that one day the truth will surface because the Lord has guided me to entrust it to Him.”
