“A 50-year-old woman from Amuca Ward said, ‘Now we are getting access to a good murram road to ease our movements/transport, and that is what an MP should do for his people.'”
However, MP Shedrick warned the assigned contractor against engaging in any shoddy work, emphasizing the use of local materials and labor from the indigenous people of the area. He urged the contractor to employ youth from Amuca and Omito Wards for various manual labor roles such as helpers and porters, ensuring timely and fair payment.
Bosco Okello, LC1 Chairman of Lela Village, Lera Parish, Ayer Sub-county in Kole District, welcomed the development. He stated that he had coordinated with the LC1 Chairman of Amin-nyaa Village to support the contractor for the benefit of the local population.
Gerald Obalim, a representative from the Ministry of Works and Transport, informed local residents that site clearing and other preparatory works would commence next week, including paving the way for water channels.
Christopher Ogwang of Megas Construction Ltd mentioned that the construction of the first-class murram road, spanning 6 months, will also include an additional 2 kilometers in Omito Ward.
