The Office of the Presidency in Lira City has initiated a two-week monitoring and fact-finding program in selected government schools within the city. Assistant RCCs stationed at the command center, along with Lira Resident City Commissioner Mr. Emmy Lawrence Egole, have begun engaging the staff of these schools to promote economic empowerment.
Assistant RCCs Bonny Okello Alele and Bonny Otucu are actively engaging with management and staff of the selected schools.
“Education is the pillar of development. Our goal is to continually enhance the quality of education,” said Okello Alele. “In addition to the significant contributions and sacrifices you are making, it’s important to participate in the money economy by adopting socio-economic transformation strategies advocated by the NRM government under the leadership of His Excellency, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. Relying solely on salaries is not sufficient,” Alele emphasized.
“Let’s take advantage of the peace provided by the government and involve ourselves in micro-enterprises such as piggery and poultry farming, among others. With a mindset of socio-economic transformation, the NRM government remains committed to people-centered governance beyond 2026.”
Meanwhile, Assistant Resident City Commissioner Bonny Otucu stressed the importance of patriotism among staff in all primary schools in Lira City. “Positive and patriotic attitudes are necessary to support and implement the various beneficial projects and programs initiated by the government,” Otucu added.
Assistant Resident City Commissioner Alele Boney directed all primary schools in Lira City to introduce compulsory singing of the national anthem by all pupils to foster genuine love for the nation.
The school monitoring program will span two weeks in the selected government schools in Lira City.
