Lira – Renowned radio personality and long-serving celebrity Kim Moses Wegulu has shaken the political arena within the yellow community in Northern Uganda by announcing his candidacy for the position of NRM National Vice Chairperson for Northern Uganda.
As the race for the Northern Vice Chairperson heats up, Senior Journalist Kim Moses Wegulu has officially declared his bid to contest for the position. Although the party has yet to officially set dates for the elections, many individuals are already making their intentions known. Among the rising stars in the political arena is Kim Moses Wegulu, a senior journalist and outspoken human rights defender.
At the heart of his political goals is a commitment to effectively represent the interests of the average person, uphold and defend the NRM party’s principles and values, strengthen party member mobilization at the grassroots level, popularize the NRM manifesto, and support the government’s plan to reduce poverty, create wealth, and amplify the Chairman’s Initiative for an Inclusive, Responsive, and Transparent Government. He also aims to advocate for increased development and improvements in Northern Uganda.
Kim Moses Wegulu, who registered as a member of the NRM party and quickly expressed interest in the role, stated that he is prepared to compete against other candidates for the same post. He shared that many people have urged him to run for the position because of his disciplined, calm, and non-confrontational approach to politics. Wegulu believes he is the most qualified candidate for the job, with a clear vision for NRM party mobilization.
Not only does he want to change how people view the NRM, but he also hopes to advocate for national unity and reconciliation among party members across all regions of Uganda. “Kim has promised to reinforce and advance the NRM Core Values and mobilize the voices of the people, as well as those of NRM Party members, including special interest groups.”
“Fellow Ugandans, especially the leaders and members of the mighty NRM party, I am seeking your support and mandate to serve as the NRM Vice Chairperson for Northern Uganda,” said Kim Moses Wegulu.
A key focus of his agenda is strengthening NRM party structures for mobilization, from the grassroots level to the national level. Wegulu wants all NRM sub-county chairpersons and district executives to be enrolled on a payroll with a salary of over 400,000 shillings per month.
Once elected, Kim stated that he would advocate for more journalists and long-serving, loyal NRM cadres to be appointed to prominent positions, such as ambassadors, RDCs, permanent secretaries, and other top government offices. His political goals include effectively representing the interests of the average citizen, upholding and defending the NRM party’s ideology, and popularizing the NRM manifesto.
