A team of philanthropists under their umbrella Philanthropy and Volunteerism in Education and Entrepreneurship (PAVE) Wednesday embarked on a general cleaning campaign in Mbarara City as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) drive to preserve and maintain the environment safe.
The cleaning campaign was launched and spearheaded by Prof. Bob Hopkins, the Founder and President of the Philanthropists body, together with Mr Ambrose Ndyamuba, the Executive Director, and the general public.
In some of the activities carried out on the day were; picking up littered rubbish including bottles, and polythene bags, among others to ensure a clean and green environment of the city for its dwellers and traders. They also cleaned the drainage trenches along the roads to ensure that the drainage system remained intact and free-flowing.
