The Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) of Uganda’s military, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has returned to the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, just days after deactivating his account. Through his account with a blue verification badge belonging to the General announced, “I’m Back.”
It’s important to note that on January 10th, Muhoozi deactivated his official X account, which had over a million followers.
He joined the platform around a decade ago in 2014. Upon his departure, he stated that his military responsibilities led to his decision to leave the platform.
“To all my dear followers, it has been an exciting and vibrant journey together for the past 10 years since 2014. However, the time has come, guided and blessed by my Lord Jesus Christ, to step away and focus on His army, the UPDF,” Muhoozi expressed.
Nonetheless, the General mentioned, “At the right time, when it becomes necessary, and after completing the Almighty God’s immediate mission to restore lasting peace and security to all His people in our region, we will always come together again.”
His departure from the platform was met with approval from numerous individuals both nationally and internationally. The First Son has gained notoriety for his controversial remarks, especially with tweets that appear threatening at times.
His targets have included countries like Kenya and Sudan, which he threatened to seize. Muhoozi also disclosed that he intended to abduct Nigerian singer Ayra Starr because he is infatuated with her. Other notable figures he has targeted include NUP president Bobi Wine, Dr. Kiiza Besigye, and even the US ambassador to Uganda, William Popp.
As if he had never left, one of Muhoozi’s latest tweets stated that Dr. Kiiza Besigye would be hanged on Heroes Day for his actions against the country.
He added that everyone who has troubled his uncle Gen Salim Saleh’s government would face consequences. This tweet has since been removed.
