The Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon Thomas Tayebwa, has undoubtedly endured enough agony from football, especially with Arsenal occasionally overpowering Manchester United, and he’s determined to create a fresh approach to end this embarrassment.

It’s worth mentioning that Tayebwa is a devoted supporter of Manchester United.

He has frequently attended matches at Old Trafford to cheer on the Red Devils.

Arsenal triumphed over Manchester United 2-0 in a recent match, thanks to goals from Jurrien Timber and William Saliba, both scored off corner kicks.

Mikel Arteta’s team has excelled at set pieces, particularly corner kicks, to the extent that they’ve been dubbed ‘Corner FC.’

In Uganda, the clash between Arsenal and Manchester United is undoubtedly the most significant, given the vast fanbases of both clubs.

There is always plenty of banter exchanged both before and after the match.

This was certainly the case following the recent game, as the Archbishop of Uganda, Stephen Kazimba Mugalu, an enthusiastic Arsenal supporter, took to social media platform X to taunt Tayebwa about the Gunners’ victory.

“What a game! Proud of @Arsenal!
My brother @Thomas_Tayebwa, may God comfort you and all @ManUtd fans.
Next time better!,” said the Archbishop.

In retaliation, the MP from Ruhinda North announced that he plans to propose a private members bill aimed at prohibiting the Gunners from taking corner kicks, as he believes this is the only way to neutralize them at present.

“Congratulations, Your Grace. I have just recovered. I will talk to my colleagues in
@Parliament_Ug
we see how we can sponsor a private members’ bill to ban cornerkicks in any game involving
@ArsenalFC_fl. I know @rggoobi will give us a certificate of financial implication, though @KiryowaKk
will try to frustrate it. That way we shall manage you ha ha ha,” replied Tayebwa.

Though this exchange was primarily playful banter between the two figures, it did provoke a reaction from some individuals.

They directed insults towards the MP, arguing that there are numerous pressing issues to address rather than his focus on European football.
