Rotary Club of Entebbe Elects Asan Kasingye As Their New President

The Rotary Club of Entebbe has announced retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP), Asan Kasingye, as its next president. The leadership change is part of Rotary’s annual tradition of transitioning roles to promote fresh ideas and sustained service.

The announcement was shared on the club’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, expressing confidence in Kasingye’s ability to lead with humility and dedication.




Kasingye will officially take on the role during an installation ceremony scheduled for June 8, 2025. The event will be held at the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (UWEC) in Entebbe and is expected to draw members of the Rotary community, civic leaders, and invited guests.







Born in Sheema District, Asan Kasingye has had a distinguished public service career that began in 1986. Over the years, he held key positions in the Uganda Police Force, including Interpol Director, Police Spokesperson, and Chief Political Commissar. He retired in 2022 after 34 years of service.

Outside of uniform, Kasingye is widely recognized for his strong online presence and is fondly referred to as the “President of Ugandans on Twitter” due to his engaging social media activity. He also heads Tayari Security Company, a private security firm based in Kampala.

His election to lead the Rotary Club reflects his continued passion for service and community development. As president, Kasingye is expected to prioritize outreach, education, health, and environmental efforts in Entebbe and surrounding areas.
