Kampala, Uganda – Activities of NEXUS Green in Teso and Karamoja are currently facing scrutiny from regional leaders, who claim the company’s projects benefit only top officials in the Ministry of Water and Environment, rather than the local communities.
“What’s Nexus green first of all, what do they do and where are their projects,” one of the furious elders from Katakwi by names Joel Omoding asked.
In a letter dated 20th of August signed by a group of 20 elders both from Teso and Karamoja called upon the president himself to take interest on the Nexus greens activities saying they are all disasters.
According to the elders they had wanted to hand over the letter to the president during his meeting with Teso leaders on cattle compensations, but they were denied access to the president.
According to Mr Omoding, the projects under Nexus green are being implemented like cattle compensations whereby only few individuals benefiting from top.
Martine Okurut another elder from Soroti Arapai said carrying on physical audit of Nexus green activities would prove to the president that the elders are concerned on what’s supposed to be for the community.

Mr Paul Lokol the district chairperson Nabilatuk predicted that Nexus green could be implementing ghost projects since no one knows what they are doing and who’s funding them.
“I would like to request that NEXUS Green activities should be investigated because whatever they are doing is not benefiting the public imagine even me the chairperson of the district am totally green about their projects, yet they claim having projects in the district,” he said.
Peter Lemukol from Nabilatuk said activities of NEXUs Green should be taken seriously with key interest.
“These people are driving posh cash, they’re too arrogant even with the communities where they have activities, there’s also element of lowering girls into sex in where they do work from, he claimed.
The efforts to get a comment from any person from Nexus Green were futile as their known phones were all not available by the time of writing this article. End
