This involves emphasizing wealth creation and poverty eradication in Lira City.
In an exclusive interview with the Ankole Times newspaper, Amongi stated that she is now turning her words into actions by fulfilling all her pledges to the people of Lira City regarding poverty eradication.
Amongi, highly speculated to be contesting in Lira City in 2026, has gained significant political momentum, particularly in the arena of the Woman MP Lira City seat, which is likely to be won by her in 2026.
She provided 20 million shillings to the LC Ones SACCOs for both City East Division and City West Division, with each division receiving 10 million. This contribution was part of her pledge.
Meanwhile, Arova Cooperative Society is actively launching deeper low-interest loans, providing a second round of loans to different groups at an unbeatable interest rate of 10% over a 12-month period.
Broom sellers in Lira Main Market received their second round of low-interest loans from Arova Reality, according to Alan Owani. Owani stated that they are progressing towards poverty eradication by offering low-interest loans to the community of Lira City.
Owani emphasized their focus on action and realities rather than propaganda, lies, or sweet talk.
Amongi Betty recently supported broom sellers and groups of women selling juice within Lira City.
When contacted by our reporter, Amongi stated that she is awaiting the right time to declare her intention to contest in Lira City in 2026. She urged everyone to be aware that she is still committed to eradicating poverty in Lira City, where her husband, Hon. Jimmy Michael Akena Obote, officially resides.
A woman in Senior Quarters B in Lira City East Division told this publication that Amongi is simply waiting for the opportunity to be sworn in as Lira City Women MP without fear or favor.

Minister Amongi Betty will be contesting alongside Aceng Jane Ruth Ocero, the Minister of Health.
