On Friday, December 27th, Hon. Henry Musasizi Ariganyira, the State Minister for Finance and General Duties and Member of Parliament for Rubanda East, fulfilled his pledge to donate 313 galvanized iron sheets to the Muko Archdeaconry in Muko Sub County, Rubanda West.

The donation was made during the thanksgiving and birthday celebration of Venerable Ernest Nkwasibwe, who was marking his 60th birthday at the archdeaconry.

The 313 iron sheets are a significant contribution towards the ongoing construction of the Muko Archdeaconry. According to the Bill of Quantities (BOQs), the project requires a total of 600 iron sheets.

Rubanda District LC5 Chairperson, Mr. Ampeire Stephen Kasyaba, represented Minister Musasizi and delivered the iron sheets.

Speaking as the guest of honor, Chairman Kasyaba commended Minister Musasizi for generously donating half of the required iron sheets. He emphasized the importance of continued support for the church and attributed the successful donation to the strong collaboration between himself and the Minister.

Chairman Kasyaba used the occasion to strongly condemn political divisionism within the district, particularly along the lines of Rubanda East and Rubanda West constituencies. He questioned the rationale behind divisions among people who live together, share common interests, and speak the same language.

He further warned against the dangers of identity-based politics, emphasizing that a true leader should serve all constituents regardless of their origin, tribe, or religion.

Urging Christians to reject those who promote divisive politics, Chairman Kasyaba pointed out that weak candidates often resort to such tactics instead of focusing on their manifestos and uniting the community.

Venerable Ernest Nkwasibwe, the Archdeacon of Muko Archdeaconry, expressed his gratitude to Minister Musasizi for honoring his pledge. He also praised Chairman Kasyaba for his efforts in ensuring balanced development across both constituencies in the district.

Friday Rwamahe, a synod member in the Diocese of Kigezi, called upon Christians to recognize and appreciate Chairman Kasyaba’s leadership and the positive impact of the collaborative efforts between the Minister and the district leadership.
