In a dramatic turn of events, Minister of Sports, Peter Ogwang, the incumbent MP for Ngariam County, today confronted two aspiring NRM candidates, Daniel Mulalu and Augustine Otuko.
The duo, known for their relentless campaign of misinformation against Ogwang, particularly regarding the contentious Okore land issue, seemed to have met their match today at Ocwiin, Okore sub-county.
At the burial of the late Emmanuel Otukei, Ogwang delivered a scathing rebuke to Otuko and Mulalu, calling out their fabrications and challenging them to stop spreading falsehoods.
With characteristic confidence, Ogwang addressed Otuko, saying, “You’re the spokesperson of Calvin Echodu, whose mother is grabbing the land of the people of Okore. If you truly care about the people of Okore, go and tell Echodu to stop grabbing their land.”
The verbal takedown left Otuko and Mulalu reeling, and they abruptly disappeared from the burial ceremony, seemingly realizing the futility of their actions.
Meanwhile, Ogwang seized the moment to deliver a powerful message, asserting, “I am here, you’re just joking, I have nowhere to go. I am here to serve my people of Ngariam.” The congregation erupted in cheers, a testament to Ogwang’s enduring popularity.
In a display of statesmanship, Ogwang advised his opponents to adopt a more mature approach to politics. “My brothers, let’s play fair and mature politics. Stop telling lies to the masses all the time,” he urged.
This was a clear reference to Otuko and Mulalu’s repeated claims that Ogwang was involved in the Okore land deal, a falsehood that Ogwang emphatically denied.
As the political landscape in Ngariam County continues to evolve, one thing is clear: Minister Peter Ogwang remains a formidable force, committed to serving his constituents with integrity and dedication. The question on everyone’s mind is: can Otuko and Mulalu regroup and redeem themselves, or will Ogwang’s words be the final nail in their coffin? Only time will tell.
