There was jubilation among local residents in Acekene Cell, Arocha Division, Apac Municipality, as Hon. MP Maxwell Akora, who has shifted his political focus from Maruzi to Apac Municipality, rehabilitated boreholes in the area to ensure residents have access to clean water.

Ogwang George, the LC1 vice chairperson of Acekene-Bugolobi Cell, Arocha Division, Apac Municipality, commended Hon. Akora for his unwavering support for the local community. He praised Akora for taking the initiative to repair several broken boreholes, particularly benefiting the residents of Arocha Division in Apac Municipality.

Imat Loy, a woman representative in Acekene Cell, Arocha Division, Apac Municipality, could not hide her happiness last week upon seeing with her own eyes that the repaired borehole was now fully functional and serving the surrounding community.

She recalled that in 2011, after witnessing Akora’s achievements in rehabilitating many boreholes in Apac, they knew he was a powerful leader. This led them to advocate for his candidacy, believing he was the right leader to steer Apac Municipality forward. The good news is that Akora is back to contest in the 2026 general elections to continue his work and elevate Apac Municipality and the entire district.

One of Hon. Maxwell Akora’s representatives, Hon. Bernard Obace Obasanjo, explained to our reporter, “The extensive work involved changing several expensive pipes. Many of the boreholes had suffered from damaged pipes, cylinders, rods, and pump buckets, which disrupted access to clean water for the affected communities in various areas within Apac Municipality.”

Although the budget for this rehabilitation initiative is believed to be significant (the exact amount has not been disclosed), the goal is to restore reliable water sources, improve sanitation, and support the health and well-being of residents across Apac Municipality and District.

In a related development, Hon. Maxwell Akora also donated sports uniforms to PAG Comprehensive Secondary School last week. One of the school administrators, who spoke to the press on the condition of anonymity, expressed their gratitude, thanking MP Akora for his generous support. The administrator highlighted that Akora’s efforts demonstrate his commitment to improving the well-being of the community and the standard of education in Apac.

Recently, Hon. Maxwell Akora, formerly from Maruzi County, shifted his political base to Apac Municipality. He is determined to become the next MP for Apac Municipality and is gaining political momentum ahead of the UPC party primary and the 2026 general elections.

Apac Municipality is currently represented by MP Hon. Ocan Patrick, but Akora has criticized Ocan for siding with the NRM party instead of fully supporting the UPC ideology.
