MTN Uganda has taken the spotlight as the official telecommunications partner in a pivotal role at the 19th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit, currently underway at the Speke Resort Convention Centre in Munyonyo, Uganda. This acknowledgment is a testament to MTN’s extensive collaboration with the Ugandan government, providing crucial support for the planning and execution of this significant event.
Since November 2023, MTN Uganda has actively collaborated with the government to ensure the success of the summit. The collaboration goes beyond telecommunications support, encompassing strategic advisory and technical advice for branding the summit. MTN has spearheaded branding efforts, extending from Entebbe International Airport to various routes and venues, with the aim of showcasing Uganda as an ideal destination for trade and investment.
Scheduled to run from January 15th to 20th, the NAM Summit gathers global leaders and stakeholders for vital discussions on international cooperation. MTN Uganda’s involvement positions the company not only as a telecommunication giant but also as a dedicated advocate for Uganda’s prosperity and success on the global stage.
Dr. Amina Zawedde, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of ICT, expressed the government’s appreciation for MTN Uganda’s reliable partnership and officially designated the company as the summit’s official telecommunications provider. CEO Ms. Sylvia Mulinge welcomed summit delegates to Uganda, underscoring the company’s commitment to ensuring the success of the event.
