Mulago Women’s Hospital Receives Praise from First Lady

During a visit to Mulago Specialised Women and Neonatal Hospital in Kampala, the First Lady and Minister of Education, Janet Kataha Museveni, commended the facility for its exceptional services. Represented by Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng, the Minister of Health, the First Lady emphasized the Ugandan government’s commitment to improving maternal and neonatal health.

Maama Janet recognized the importance of a healthy population for the nation’s progress, highlighting the government’s ongoing efforts to upgrade healthcare facilities and enhance maternal and newborn care. She announced plans to increase the number and capacity of health workers, particularly focusing on neonatal care, through district-led training, support, supervision, and mentoring at district hospitals and lower-level facilities.




Dr. Evelyn Christine Nabunya, the Executive Director of the hospital, expressed gratitude to President Yoweri Museveni and Maama Janet for their leadership in establishing a hospital dedicated to women’s issues. Dr. Nabunya encouraged the public to seek medical services at Mulago Specialised Women and Neonatal Hospital rather than seeking treatment abroad.
