Mutoto Cultural Site Road to Be Worked on Following Umukuka’s Intervention

His Highness the Umukuka of Bugisu, Jude Mike Mudoma, has written to the Minister of Works and Transport, General Edward Wamala, over the Mutoto cultural site road. This was revealed to this publication by the spokesperson of the Bukuka institution, Hon. Steven Masiga, who told Ankole Times that construction works are beginning.

Masiga said that yesterday a delegation from the cultural institution and the Ministry of Works conducted a feasibility study of the road leading to Mutoto, which is approximately 1 kilometre off the Tororo Road.

The Minister of Works has instructed the Ministry of Works and the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) to ensure that the road is ready for use within one month.

The official launch of Imbalu is slated for August 1st, 2026.

The community welcomed the intervention by the Umukuka and the Government of Uganda on the poor state of the road.

Several heads of state and cultural leaders are expected to be part of the high-level dignitaries in August.
