Joseph Ayolo, Napak – District leaders in Napak, Karamoja region, have been urged to uphold integrity to improve service delivery to the community.

The call was made by Dr. Professor Mukisa Ayubu, the Executive Director of the Karamoja Anticorruption Coalition, on Wednesday during the Integrity Promotion Forum.

The meeting, organized by KACU with funding from the Danish Embassy and GIZ, addressed numerous gaps in service delivery in the district.

Mr. Mukisa reminded the officials that the well-being of local residents depends on how services are delivered to them.

“You are the custodians of services to our people. We must exercise maximum integrity while delivering these services,” he said.

He emphasized that Ugandans cannot benefit from the taxes they pay if civil servants, who are entrusted with service delivery, become compromised.

“Let’s treat corruption as the number one enemy in our society,” he added.

He advised civil servants to consider the future of their children before thinking of embezzling public funds.
