First Chinese Military Advisor Meets Uganda’s Chief of Joint Staff

Major General Bakasumba welcomed the new Chinese Military Advisor and expressed his appreciation for the continued support from China.

Major General Jack Bakasumba, the Chief of Joint Staff, met with Colonel Zhang Hao, the first-ever Chinese Military Advisor to Uganda. The meeting took place at the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs Headquarters in Mbuya.

During the meeting, Colonel Zhang Hao praised the long-standing relations between Uganda and China, and highlighted their historical ties that date back to the era of the National Resistance Army, now known as the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF). He noted that China has been a crucial ally in Uganda’s economic development, especially in the defense sector.
