MBALE, Uganda — Yesterday, His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the National Chairman of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and Presidential Flag Bearer of the party, held a meeting with NRM Youth League and Youth Council leaders at the Mbale State Lodge.
The meeting was coordinated by Commissioner Hellen Seku, Head of the Office of Patriotism under the President’s Office.
The engagement followed President Museveni’s recognition of the need to empower youth leaders with a deeper understanding of the NRM ideology, achievements, and the 2026/31 Manifesto.
President Museveni urged the young leaders to popularize the NRM’s message of wealth creation, household income improvement, effective service delivery, peace, security, and infrastructure development.
“The NRM has achieved tremendous gains in service delivery, especially the extension of electricity to all sub-counties, provision of clean piped water, improved road networks, and general infrastructure development,”
President Museveni.
Commissioner Hellen Seku thanked the President for always creating time to orient and engage young leaders in national development discussions. She described the initiative as a strategic approach, noting that the youth are effective messengers for promoting the NRM Manifesto.
She urged the youth leaders to understand the Manifesto clearly, which highlights the NRM’s past achievements and future focus areas for the 2026/31 term.
The youth leaders expressed their readiness to mobilize support for President Museveni and to popularize the NRM Manifesto across the country. They thanked the President for his consistent mentorship and engagement with the youth.
They also extended appreciation to Commissioner Hellen Seku for her dedicated service and commitment to mobilizing young people to understand and promote the NRM’s achievements and vision for 2026/31.
