Ntare School Suspends Senior Six Students for Vandalizing Security Cameras

The Ankole Times

Ntare School, a prestigious institution in western Uganda, suspended all senior six students on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, for allegedly vandalizing security cameras. The indefinite suspension is likely to disrupt the national examinations, which are scheduled to start on November 10, 2023.

The school’s board of governors is expected to meet to assess the damage and decide on the way forward. In the meantime, the students have been ejected from the school premises by the police.

The motive for the vandalism is unclear, but it has raised concerns about the state of discipline at Ntare School. The school is known for its high academic standards and has produced many prominent alumni.

The suspension has had a significant impact on the students and their families. The students are facing an uncertain future, as they are now unable to attend classes and prepare for their exams. Their parents are also worried about the financial implications of the suspension, as they may have to pay for their children to attend private tuition or to retake the exams.

The school authorities are tight-lipped about what could have prompted the students to vandalize property. The students who were already outside the school premises were also very hostile to the media, threatening to break their gadgets if they dared took photos or any recordings in their presence.
