Former Supreme Court Judge and renowned legal scholar, Justice (rtd) Prof. George Kanyeihamba, has passed away. He was 84.
Prof. Kanyeihamba served on Uganda’s Supreme Court from 1997 until his retirement in 2009. He was widely respected for his contributions to constitutional law, human rights, and legal education in Uganda and beyond.
His legacy extends beyond the courtroom — as a professor, author, and outspoken voice on matters of governance and justice, he remained active in public discourse long after leaving the bench.
