Funeral Service for Dr. Aggrey Kiyingi Held in Kampala

Dr. Aggrey Kiyingi, a dual citizen of Australia and Uganda, is being remembered at his funeral service in Kampala, Uganda. He passed away at his home in Sydney, Australia, on September 30, 2023. The funeral service is taking place at Namirembe Cathedral in Kampala.

The Right Rev. Wilberforce Kityo Luwalira, the Bishop of Namirembe, led the funeral service on Monday, October 30, 2023. The deceased’s body arrived at Entebbe International Airport on Sunday evening.




The Bishop expressed gratitude to President Yoweri Museveni for accepting the return of Dr. Kiyingi’s body and to the Australian government for their cooperation in bringing the body back to Uganda.




The family and friends of Dr. Kiyingi find solace in the fact that he will be laid to rest at his ancestral home in Seeta Namulonge, Wakiso district. On Tuesday, October 31, 2023, his funeral will take place at his ancestral grounds in Seeta Namulonge, Wakiso district. This will be his final resting place, as he returns to the land of his ancestors.




The deceased’s body will also be taken to his late father, Azalia Kiyingi Ssebbowa, in Busukuma village, Namulonge, Wakiso district, for a funeral.
