Obongi District Leaders Vigilant in Overseeing 5 Billion UGX USMID Projects

The first phase of the Palorinya resource center’s construction cost 966 million shillings, while the second phase, which includes two resource centers in Palorinya and Itula, along with the Ndirindiri market, is budgeted at 675,820,250/=.

On Tuesday, Obongi district leaders commenced monitoring and supervising the progress of the construction of the Palorinya resource center in Palorinya sub-county, Obongi district.




The Ankole Times reporter has reliably learned that top political leaders and technical staff have teamed up to ensure the quality of work for the over 5 billion UGX infrastructural project under the Uganda Support to Municipal Infrastructure Development (USMID) program.




The team, led by the district chairperson of Obongi, Hon. Abib Buga Khemis, the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Obongi, Mr. Samuel Mpimbasa Hashaka, CAO Leru Andrew, DISO Daniel Elyebu, and Ag District Engineer Onapa Ivan, has started by monitoring all projects under USMID in Itula and Palorinya sub-counties.




The projects include two resource centers in Palorinya and Itula sub-counties and the Ndirindiri market in Palorinya sub-county.

The leaders appreciated the efforts of the two contractors, Lubra Contractors Ltd and Bygon Enterprises Ltd, but noted that “they are behind schedule,” and they have been given until the end of March 2024 to complete the projects.

RDC Hashaka Samuel Mpimbasa warned that the project completion should not go beyond the time frame of March 2024.
