Okidi Patrick, Obongi – The RDC of Obongi, Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka, officially launched the Wendi PDM revolving fund by handing over 600 million shillings from the bank directly to the mobile phones of individual beneficiaries in the six parishes of Ewafa sub-county.
The Wendi PDM revolving fund is a new system designed to deliver Parish Development Model (PDM) funds directly to each beneficiary within a parish.
Flanked by the District Chairperson, Haji Abib Buga Khemis Awadi, the Secretary for Gender, Gasia Fatuma, and the LC3 Chairperson of Ewafa sub-county, commonly known as AK 47, RDC Hashaka commended the NRM government for streamlining the disbursement of PDM funds through this innovative approach, which aims to reduce bureaucracy and corruption.
He urged the beneficiaries to invest the funds wisely in income-generating projects to drive socio-economic transformation in their parishes.
The Obongi District LCV Chairperson, who is also the District NRM Chairperson, warned that anyone hindering the implementation of PDM in Obongi District would face arrest and prosecution. Awadi praised the government of Uganda, led by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, for empowering citizens through PDM to create wealth at the parish level.
A beneficiary from Ewafa sub-county, who preferred anonymity, expressed plans to use the PDM funds to purchase ten goats to improve their livelihood.
