Okodo Peter Launches Voter Registration Campaign for 2026 Elections in Kyoga North

Amolatar, Uganda – While speaking to the media on Sunday afternoon, Kyoga North MP hopeful Mr. Okodo Peter called upon all the people of Amolatar, especially the electorate, to go and register massively so that they can qualify as eligible voters in the forthcoming 2026 elections.

According to Peter Okodo, the Electoral Commission recently released a roadmap for the update of the National Voters Register in Uganda. It was originally scheduled to commence on January 3, 2025, and conclude on January 24, 2025, but it has now been rescheduled to begin on January 20, 2025, and conclude on February 10, 2025.




Outlining the importance of the update exercise, which will be conducted at all update stations throughout Uganda, Okodo said that all voters should register on time, as required by the Electoral Commission.




Mr. Okodo, therefore, called upon the people of Aputi Sub-county, Opali, Agikdak, Akwon, Aweko, Etam Town Council, Etam Sub-county, Abeja, and Arwot Cek Sub-county to actively participate within the stipulated dates in order to meet the update deadline set by the Electoral Commission.




Peter Okodo, who is the director of Jerusalem School of Health Sciences, told reporters that this exercise would enable all eligible Ugandan citizens aged 18 years and above, who are not yet registered as voters, to do so, including his voters in the Kyoga North constituency.

Achievements in Amolatar in 2024

In 2024, Okodo donated one million shillings to a total of 37 local council one and two chairpersons from five parishes within Abeja Sub-county to support their SACCO. In August 2024, Peter Okodo fulfilled his pledge towards the construction of a nursery school and also supported church construction by contributing to several fundraising events, among other initiatives.




According to Jane Akello of Agikdak village, Kyoga North constituency is set to experience a massive political change as NRM’s popular and respected figure, active young cadre Okodo, unveils his manifesto while contesting under the NRM party ticket in the 2026 general election.

He also donated several bags of cement to Akol St. Paul Chapel, sets of uniforms for several football teams, and donated balls, among other items, in Kyoga North constituency, Amolatar District.

He further encouraged voters to note that this exercise would enable registered voters wishing to transfer to new voting locations to apply for such transfers in time.




Additionally, he donated food items worth over 10 million shillings to a total of 100 households affected by floods.

Okodo Peter is a scholar and a true academician by background. He is currently the proprietor of Jerusalem Nursing and Midwifery School, along with other branches.

He confirmed his interest in the Kyoga North Parliamentary seat in the 2026 election, citing the significant difference his participation in community projects and the improvement of education standards in the Lango sub-region have made.

Okodo Peter is confident in his journey to the 12th Parliament, as he is well known for spending most of his time and resources on political consultations with the people in the villages.

Once elected as an MP, he is committed to the development of the Kyoga North constituency.
