Oyam LC5 Urges All NGOs Working in Oyam to Sign MOU with District

OYAM, UGANDA – Oyam LC 5 Chairperson, Dilla Benson Oyuku, has appealed to Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) working in Oyam District local government to sign a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) with the district within this month to avoid jeopardizing their work.

Dilla made this statement during a meeting with development partners in Oyam District at the Council Hall on Tuesday. He stated that as district authorities, they have realized that some NGOs have entered Oyam District and are working without signing an MOU with the district. Such NGOs will not be allowed to continue working in Oyam District. All NGOs must sign an MOU with the district through the Office of the Community Development Officer (CDO) so that the district is aware of their intentions.

Additionally, Dilla pointed out that other NGOs are operating in Oyam District, but their offices are located in Lira City. He emphasized the importance of any organization working in Oyam District to have its office within Oyam District for easy access to support by the local community.
