The Ankole Times newspaper has learned through an interview with the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Pakwach that witch doctors or traditional herbalists operating in the district have been strongly cautioned about causing disunity and crimes within the community.

On November 30, 2023, a section of the District Security Committee chaired by RDC Paul Eseru interfaced and held a lengthy discussion with some of the highly-rated witch doctors of Pakwach District, also referred to as traditional herbalists, regarding the way forward for their work in the district.

According to RDC Paul Eseru, the main purpose of the meeting was to acquaint the witch doctors with security user interface protocols and to understand their mode of operations. The witch doctors were cautioned to refrain from weird acts that cause disunity, promote crime, and create insecurities in the community.

Eseru Paul advised the team of witch doctors or traditional herbalists to submit their operating licenses within the two-week period as agreed upon in the meeting. RDC Pakwach emphasized that they do not want any issues causing disunity among the local community, especially during the festive period when everyone is looking forward to celebrating.
