PLU Ground Commanders Reaffirm Commitment in Strategic Post-Election Meeting

KAMPALA, Uganda — The Director of Mobilization for the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), Michael Mawanda, today held a series of productive meetings with key stakeholders at the PLU Secretariat, aimed at reinforcing the movement’s post-election strategy and expanding its grassroots reach.

In one engagement, a delegation of PLU Ground Commanders led by Benon Rukundo paid a courtesy visit, presenting a comprehensive mobilization report.

The report highlighted achievements registered during the election period, outlined challenges encountered in the field, and proposed strategic recommendations for the way forward.

In a show of unity and continued dedication, the Ground Commanders voluntarily pledged their support toward enhancing the visibility and strengthening PLU structures across the country. Their commitment reflects a renewed focus on grassroots engagement and sustained mobilization efforts in the post-election phase.

In a separate but equally significant engagement, Hon. Mawanda met with Thembo Mugamba Yowasi, OBR Minister for Royal Protection in the Rwenzururu Kingdom, alongside Kabugho Marilyn, who also paid a courtesy visit.

The leaders discussed strategic approaches to expand PLU’s presence in Kasese District and the wider Rwenzururu Kingdom, with emphasis on strengthening grassroots mobilization, enhancing community engagement, and building robust local structures to deepen the movement’s reach in the region.

Hon. Mawanda commended all stakeholders for their resilience, dedication, and proactive efforts, emphasizing that such coordinated engagements are essential in building a stronger, more connected, and forward-looking organization.
