Wakiso District Deputy RDC, Sheikh Kassim Kamugisha, has urged residents of Kabale Municipality to avoid using religion to divide their community. Speaking at the wedding reception of Gloria and Bosco at St. Andrews Church of Uganda, Kamugisha emphasized the importance of religion in uniting families, people, and the nation.

Expressing concern over growing religious divisions that hinder local development, Kamugisha called on residents to transcend identity politics and focus on shared goals. He cited the loss of government programs due to the opposition MP as a consequence of such divisions.

Kamugisha highlighted his efforts in promoting Kabale’s Emyooga Program, warning that the district could face a five-year drought in government-backed initiatives if the current opposition MP remains in office.

Kabale District parliamentary hopeful Immaculate Kagwa echoed Kamugisha’s sentiments, advocating against the politics of religion, identity, and tribalism. Kagwa stressed that poverty transcends religious, tribal, and national boundaries.

This call to action aligns with President Museveni’s emphasis on interest-based politics over identity-based divisions.
