Refugee Hosting Districts Leaders in Uganda Trained in Kiryandongo

Kiryandongo , Uganda – Over 70 leaders from refugee-hosting districts are undergoing a two-day training at Kiryandongo district. District leaders in the 15 refugee hosting districts in Uganda have thanked the NRM government and H.E President Yoweri Museveni Kaguta for causing a fundamental change in the districts of Northern and Western Uganda through the Displacement Impact Project (DRDIP).

Among the 15 hosting districts whose leaders are undergoing the training are:




  • Adjumani district
  • Obongi district
  • Lamwo district
  • Kiryandongo district, among others.

The leaders who are attending a two-day stakeholders conference at the Kiryandongo district headquarters include the district chairpersons, RDCs, CAOs, and DRDIP desk officers of the respective district. They thanked President Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for starting DRDIP, which has caused a significant fundamental change in all the 15 refugee hosting districts in roads, fighting poverty, health, education, and more, particularly the socioeconomic transformation.




The Director of DRDIP in OPM, Mr. Robert Lim Lim, agreed with the leaders about the fundamental change and called for teamwork in ensuring sustainability in all the projects that have been implemented. Lim Lim said unity, hard work, and teamwork are the way to go if we are to have a good mindset change.




The Kiryandongo RDC, Dan Muganga, said President Museveni has led the country very well and needs to be supported for his good heart in guiding and leading the country so effectively.

The Obongi Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Samuel Mpimbasa Hasaka, during his speech in Kiryandongo, warned those doing shoddy work in various projects in West Nile and more especially in Obongi district to desist from it.
