Dr. Lalam Grace Annah Atine, former Woman MP Candidate for the Dokolo bye-election, has gained more popularity than ever before as she has kicked off the repair of broken boreholes in some parts of Dokolo district.
On Tuesday, Dr. Lalam handed over a repaired borehole in Sports Village, Amwoma Sub-county, Dokolo district, in an effort to provide clean water for the population.
The repair of the borehole sparked jubilations and celebrations from hundreds of the Wanahinci who witnessed it. Dr. Lalam is again receiving a lot of love and sympathy from the voters for listening to the president and stepping down in favor of the flag bearer, who unfortunately did not win the election. The repair, fully supported by Dr. Grace Lalam, cost over one million.
One of the members of the village, Christine, narrated that the support by Dr. Grace Hanna Lalam, to the tune of 1,200,000/-, was of great importance to members of Amwoma because now they are able to access clean water from the repaired borehole. According to one of the local leaders of the area, who preferred anonymity, many tried repairing the borehole in vain, and for 8 years the community was sharing dirty water with animals in the area.
Hon. Agness, a Councilor representing the people of Adagwok Parish, and also the secretary for community services, has appreciated Lalam for such a move. Onach Andrew, one of Lalam’s agents, said Lalam is now the right candidate who shall be opposed for the NRM Party ticket come the 2026 election. The borehole was repaired on Tuesday, the 26th of March, 2024.
Dr. Lalam Grace Annah Atine, in her speech, thanked members of the community in Amwoma for alerting her about the broken borehole in Amwoma Sub-county and promised to be repairing several boreholes in the district in the near future since water is life. She congratulated H.E Gen. Yoweri Museveni Kaguta, the president of the Republic of Uganda, and commended him for struggling to bring clean water to most parts of the country, including Dokolo district in Northern Uganda.
Dr. Lalam recently participated in the by-election for the Dokolo Woman MP seat and gave respect to the party leadership by stepping down in favor of Adongo Elau, who was the flag bearer and is now seen by many voters in Dokolo as the biggest threat to the opposition in the 2026 general election, as she proposes to build an NRM office and hand over the land title to H.E the president, who is also the National chairman of the NRM party.
