General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Chief of Defence Forces and Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations in Uganda, met with a delegation from the Czech Republic at the Special Forces Command Headquarters in Entebbe. The meeting was aimed at discussing ways to strengthen security and bilateral relations between Uganda and the Czech Republic.
The Czech delegation was led by Ms. Katerina Sequensova, who is the Director General for Non-European Countries, Economic and Development Cooperation of the Czech Republic. During the meeting, both parties talked about improving cooperation in various fields, with a special focus on security issues.
Ms. Sequensova was accompanied by several key officials, including Mr. Jan Spiler, Chief of Intergovernmental Defence Cooperation, Lt. Col. Borijov Jurenka, the Military and Air Defence Attaché, and Mr. Vaclav Prasil, Director of Sub-Saharan Africa. The delegation also included Ambassador Nicol Adamcova and Mr. Stephen Kaboyo, the Czech Republic Honorary Consul in Uganda, among others.
General Kainerugaba was joined by Major General BD Mugisha, the Commander of the Special Forces Command, along with other senior officers from the Special Forces Command.
The meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to discuss the potential for future collaboration and to explore ways to enhance mutual interests in security and development. The discussions were part of ongoing efforts to build stronger ties between Uganda and the Czech Republic, reflecting a shared commitment to promoting peace and cooperation.
