BUKWO, UGANDA – A scuffle erupted at the office of the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) in Bukwo as residents of Kaptererwo Parish carried the body of a slain councilor to the RDC’s office on Saturday morning. They were protesting the killing of one of the councilors, Hon. Ndiwa Victor, who represented the people of Kaprerewa Parish in Kaptererwo Sub-County, Bukwo District. He was killed last night by suspected Pokot attackers.

The protesters are criticizing the security office for failing to protect the lives and property of the residents. As of press time, the demonstration was ongoing in Bukwo Town Council, Bukwo District, with most residents blaming the Office of the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) for the uncontrollable insecurity in the district.

On Saturday morning, locals took to the streets, blocking roads leading to the office of the Bukwo Resident District Commissioner in hunger and protest. They used dry wood and stones to block the road near the RDC’s office as they carried the deceased body.
