On February 15, 2024, Pakwach District held a colorful and highly successful belated NRM Day Celebration at Kitawe Primary School in Pakwach Sub-County, themed “Building the Country We All Cherish.”

Thousands of people from various political affiliations attended the delayed celebration, with General Taban Amin, the Deputy Director-General of ISO, as the guest of honor.

During the event, seven FDC core mobilizers made the decision to cross over to the NRM Party. Among them were Adubango Gilbert, Ogenmungu Wilfred, Oyubi Gilbert, Ovuru Robert Gale, and Oyirwoth Geoffrey. Their decision was made in the presence of their FDC District Chairman, Mr. Gilbert Ochan, and Constituency MP, Hon. Emmanuel Ogiertho (FDC ticket).

Welcoming the new members, NRM District Chairman Mr. Robert Okumu Arule commended their bold and courageous decision. Ms. Irene Nabwiire, the West Nile Coordinator under the Office of the National Chairman, expressed her commitment to working with the party to attract more opposition youth back to the NRM.

The new members were promptly issued Party Cards by the NRM District Administrative Secretary, Mr. Fred Mugisha.

In his address, General Taban emphasized the appeal of the NRM Party and suggested moving away from the multiparty system towards a single-party system, citing examples such as China and Russia.

Pakwach BRDV Paul Eseru praised the Deputy Director-General of ISO for setting a commendable example as an NRM cadre in West Nile.
