Steven Masiga, Mbale City – The Uganda National Forestry Authority (UNFA) has formally allocated 60 hectares of land to the Inzu Ya Masaba cultural institution.

Umukuka III His Royal Highness Jude Mike Mudoma revealed this during a visit by Hon. Dominic Mafabi, Minister of State for Gender in charge of the elderly. Hon. Mafabi paid a courtesy visit to the Umukuka III of Bamasaba at the Inzu Ya Masaba headquarters in Maluku.

Umukuka III disclosed that the cultural institution had not previously held formal claim to the Mutoto Land until recently, when NFA committed to allocating it to Inzu Ya Masaba following discussions and directives from the President.

Umukuka and his cabinet plan to use the Mutoto Land for various activities, including the construction of a magnificent cultural palace for the Bamasaba people.

Additionally, Umukuka III hosted an apex meeting today in Maluku, comprising top Bamasaba leaders, government ministers, Members of Parliament, LC V chairpersons, mayors, other top leaders, and academicians from Masabaland. This body aims to guide the Bamasaba community on various issues.

Umukuka expressed regret over internal divisions among the Bamasaba, including backstabbing. He stated that newly established commissions would address these challenges.
