This article provides a concise overview of the aeronautical charges applicable in Uganda for various aviation services, as set by the Civil Aviation Authority.

Uganda’s Aeronautical Charges Schedule Effective Since January 2012

The Civil Aviation Authority (Uganda) has implemented a schedule of charges for aviation services since January 2012. These charges apply to various aspects of aviation operations, and we provide a summary of these charges below.

Summary of Aeronautical Charges (according to the AIP Uganda)

Charge Type Rate
1. Landing Charge – Up to 54 tons: $5 per ton
– 54 tons to 154 tons: $6 per ton
– Over 154 tons: $5 per ton
(For aircraft with annual or monthly payments, multiple landings within an hour of training are considered as one landing at the standard rate)
2. Parking Charge – First 6 hours: Free
– After 6 hours, up to 9 tons: $5 per day
– 9 tons to 27 tons: $8 per day
– 27 tons to 70 tons: $12 per day
– 70 tons to 115 tons: $20 per day
– 115 tons to 165 tons: $30 per day
– 165 tons to 270 tons: $40 per day
– Over 270 tons: $100 per day
3. ASC (International) – Passenger Service charge: $40
– Security Charge: $10
Total: $50
3. ASC (Domestic) – Passenger Service Charge: UGShs 3,000
– Security Charge: UGShs 2,000
Total: UGShs 5,000
4. Lighting Charge – 50% of the single day landing charge for landings and takeoffs between 1600 UTC and 0400 UTC
5. Aerobridge Charge – First 3 hours: $60
– Thereafter: $60 per hour or part thereof
6. Navigation Charge – Up to 2 tons: $10 per flight
– 2 tons to 4 tons: $20 per flight
– 4 tons to 10 tons: $25 per flight
– 10 tons to 20 tons: $40 per flight
– 20 tons to 95 tons: $125 per flight
– 95 tons to 150 tons: $200 per flight
– 150 tons to 273 tons: $280 per flight
– Over 273 tons: $330 per flight
7. AIP Charge – AIP Charge: $100
– AIP Amendment Service Charge: $30 per copy
8. Departure Passenger Handling System Usage – $60 per boarding pass
