The territorial police in Kabale are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of an unidentified male adult whose body was discovered floating in River Rwabahazi, located in Rugyendera Cell, Rushaki Ward, Southern Division of Kabale Municipality.
According to police reports, the body was first seen by passersby around 9:00 AM on Thursday, September 18, 2025. The Kigezi Region Police spokesperson, ASP Elly Maate, confirmed the incident, noting that officers from Kabale Central Police Station (CPS) were immediately alerted.
Police responded promptly to the scene, where they examined and documented the situation before retrieving the body. It was then transported to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital for a postmortem examination to establish the cause of death.
ASP Maate appealed to the public, urging anyone who may be missing a male relative or loved one to visit the hospital mortuary to help identify the deceased and ensure he receives a proper and dignified burial.
Investigations are ongoing, and the police are calling on community members to provide any relevant information that could assist in the ongoing inquiry.
