UPDF Air Force Commander Dies After Bathroom Accident

Brig. Gen. Stephen Kiggundu, the deputy commander of the Uganda Peoples Defence Forces (UPDF) Air Forces (UPDF-AF), has passed away. The unfortunate incident occurred on Sunday, March 31, 2024, due to a bathroom accident, as stated by army spokesperson Brig. Gen. Felix Kulayigye.

In an official statement, Brig. Gen. Kulayigye conveyed the sorrowful news, expressing the deep sadness and heavy hearts within the UPDF regarding Brig. Gen. Kiggundu’s untimely demise. The incident took place at his official residence in Entebbe.




According to the statement, Brig. Gen. Kiggundu had been in good health throughout the day until the evening when the tragic accident occurred in his bathroom. The sudden loss has left the UPDF fraternity and the UPDF air force wing mourning the departure of Brig. Gen. Kiggundu, especially during a time when his leadership was crucial for enhancing the Air Force’s capabilities.
