Fighters from Ukraine’s Azov Brigade have released video footage showing the interrogation of three captured Russian soldiers who attempted to storm Ukrainian positions using scooters and motorcycles. The footage was made public on 28 April and has drawn attention for exposing what Ukrainian forces describe as increasingly desperate tactics used by Russian occupiers.
According to the report from UNN, the Russian soldiers were captured in the Toretsk sector. Ukrainian defenders said the captured troops were part of a poorly equipped assault group using anything with two wheels to push forward against fortified Ukrainian positions. In the video, Ukrainian soldiers sarcastically note that the Russians “rode into captivity on scooters,” highlighting the absurdity of their attempted assault.
Azov Brigade fighters added that many Russian assault groups now rely on such improvised vehicles, a sign of growing logistical shortages and weakening morale within Kremlin ranks. These attempts, they noted, often end with Russian troops “resting” permanently on the battlefield alongside their destroyed vehicles.
The three soldiers in the video were taken prisoner by the Azov Brigade’s 12th Special Purpose unit. According to the Ukrainian military, the captives willingly spoke about their missions and methods, offering insight into Russia’s unconventional and ineffective strategies.
The interrogation video has since been widely shared as evidence of the declining state of Russia’s front line capabilities.
